Norms

At POP Lab, we partner with large organizations to produce applied, mixed-methods research through which we diagnose challenges, uncover actionable insights, and test interventions to improve the workplace for everyone. Our workplace is no exception.

We seek to be intentional and innovative, not only in our collaborations with partners, but also in how we work together. We are committed to a team culture of ongoing learning, collaboration, open dialogue, and mutual respect. Much like our research process, we work closely together, experimenting with internal interventions, sharing insights, and continuously refining how we work together as a team.

Feedback is not relegated to performance evaluations, but is woven into our everyday work.

We hold bi-weekly Ways of Working meetings, where we check-in on HOW we work, rather than the work itself. With a culture of continuous feedback, we use this time to debrief and review and refresh our goals for ourselves and our team.

For two years, we participated in a Conscious Relationships Lab, through which we met monthly with an outside facilitator to explore and deepen our working relationships. In this space, we agreed on rules to facilitate deeper learning and connection. We explored our deeply held values, unconscious reactions, and culture, and we learned how and why these things influence our work style. Together, we continuously learn about ourselves and each other, leading to a more open and supportive working environment.
